What makes WC applicant software different
California WC applicant work runs through the DWC's Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS). Per the DWC's EAMS FAQ, JET File is meant for large-volume filers and eForms for small and medium filers. The DWC publishes an official list of JET File vendors. On 2026-10-31, MerusCase and FluentCase were both on it as software vendors, and the general platforms in this list were not.
Beyond filing, check for injury-level records (DOI, body parts, specific vs cumulative trauma), WCAB forms that auto-fill from case data, lien tracking and med-legal calendaring.
Questions to ask in a demo
- Which EAMS forms can you file, and is it JET File or eForms?
- Can it import existing case data from the DWC or from our current system?
- How are multiple injuries per applicant handled?
- What does a full data export look like if we leave?
- Are there Spanish client-communication templates (letters, texts)?
Bilingual applicant firms
Many California applicant clients prefer Spanish. Software rarely solves that alone. Pair it with bilingual intake (see our Spanish-speaking receptionist guide) or dedicated bilingual staff who update the case file.
